What Is the Medical Billing & Coding Program?
Medical billing and coding specialists review healthcare documentation and assign standardized codes to diagnoses, procedures and services. They use those codes to prepare claims for insurance reimbursement and help healthcare organizations maintain accurate billing records.
This work connects clinical documentation with the revenue cycle. Accuracy matters because clean, complete claims help reduce delays, support compliance and allow healthcare providers to be reimbursed for the care they deliver.
Medical billing and coding specialists can support organizations that document patient services and process insurance claims. As an AdventHealth employee, you may use this training to explore related opportunities across the network. Available roles vary by location, qualifications and current staffing needs. Professionals with billing and coding skills may work in physician practices, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, long-term care facilities, chiropractic practices, physical therapy practices, insurance companies and other healthcare organizations.
